IASIU Board Nominations Extended Until July 27th

IASIU has extended the deadline to submit nominations for the board until July 27th. 


IASIU will hold its annual election for members of the board of directors at its 2018 Seminar in Baltimore, Maryland, September 9-12. There will be four director positions up for election. The term is two years, beginning immediately after the election.



Any regular member in good standing, as defined in IASIU’s By-Laws, Article II, Section 1, Subsection A, may be nominated by another regular member in good standing. The nomination must be sent to the chair of the Nomination Committee by either e-mail or U.S. Mail. Nominations may be submitted online mailed to the chair any time prior to 5:00 pm PDT on July 27, 2018.



If nominated, you must provide a position statement and digital photograph to the chair of the Nominations Committee no later than July 27, 2018. This will be used in various association publications to inform members about your background and your goals for the organization if you are elected. Additionally, this information will be provided to all attendees at the seminar.



Nominations will also be accepted from the floor at the business meeting; however, the candidate’s position statement and photograph will not appear in the association’s publications or at the seminar if the information is not provided prior to the July 27, 2018 deadline.



If you are interested in holding a position on the board of directors, it is vital to have your company support. Hotel and meals are provided by IASIU at the board meetings, but the airfare and ground transportation to the meeting is generally provided by your company.



Those elected will be required to devote a significant time commitment to the board. The board meets four times a year. There may be conference call meetings if voting or decisions need to be made by the board at times outside the regularly scheduled board meetings. One board meeting is held at the annual conference, and the other three are at different locations to be determined following the election. The locations are selected and approved by the full board.



Each member of the board is required to attend four board meetings, chair a committee, submit reports concerning the committee activity, assist at the seminar, attend chapter meetings at chapters located in your state and others when available, and other duties as assigned by the president.
