Gary Reinhardt, KPM Law

Board Member of the Month | January 2018

Where did you grow up? Where do you live now?

I grew up in Waynesboro, Virginia (in the Shenandoah Valley) and currently live in Midlothian, Virginia (a suburb of Richmond).

When you were a child what job did you want to have when you grew up?

A professional baseball player.

How long have you been a member of IASIU? How did you first get involved?

I’ve been involved since 1996 when I presented to the Virginia chapter. Our founding partner at KPM Law was the counsel to the Virginia chapter and I took over for him about a year later and have served the Virginia chapter as counsel ever since.

What is your proudest moment as an IASIU board member?

Being asked to serve as General Counsel of the International IASIU back in 2013. A true honor.

What is something most members may not know about you?

I am a certified therapy dog handler and apprenticed briefly as a dog trainer back in the BC-era, “before children.”

What are three career lessons you've learned thus far?

  1. It's never as easy, or as difficult, as it may seem at first blush.
  2. Everyone is different.
  3. There are no "absolutes" in the law.

Who is your favorite sports team or athlete?

Virginia Tech Hokies, of course! The Baltimore Orioles, too. I’ve always been a huge Cal Riken fan.

Gary serves on the IASIU Board of Directors as General Counsel.
